Careers education forms an important part of your child's Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education throughout all Meridian Trust secondary school.

Students will participate in dedicated careers lessons where they are introduced to a wide range of career pathways, employment sectors and future opportunities.

While these discrete careers education sessions help broaden students' awareness of the world of work, the majority of careers learning takes place through developing the skills, attitudes and competencies that employers value. Through classroom learning, enrichment opportunities and the wider school experience, students will build the confidence, resilience, communication and teamwork skills that will support them in their future education and careers.

PLEDGES

All Meridian Trust secondary schools offer PLEDGES, a character development programme that encourages students to broaden their experiences, contribute to their communities and develop the personal qualities that will help them succeed in school and beyond.

Through a range of activities and challenges, students build confidence, resilience, independence and leadership skills while gaining recognition for their achievements. PLEDGES complements the wider curriculum and careers programme by helping young people develop the attributes that employers, colleges and universities value.
