I am currently studying a 4 year Banking and Finance BSc Hons at 'The London Institute of Banking & Finance'. Having secured a first at the end of my 2nd year, I am about to start a 12-month placement at HSBC in the Commercial Banking Sustainable Finance department.

Having established a good grade in the 'Principals of Finance' module during my first year, an opportunity arose to become a maths tutor to the first years, to support them and extend their learning during this module. I am also part of 'Women in Finance Society', which provides good opportunities to network with industry professionals. Starting a placement in July will provide exposure to industry knowledge and experience and provide invaluable support for my final year.

Experience is key- employers are more than ever looking for experience over and above the highest grades. Take advantage of the different opportunities available out there: work experience, internships, placement, sports groups, etc. These all add up to becoming a well rounded individual.
